A bit about us

image-home.jpg
Our family farm was originally a purely arable business growing crops. We started farming pigs some 20 years ago to make better use of the grain we were producing.

At the outset we had about 12 sows kept in huts next to our house and our pigs have been reared outside from the very beginning. I have always believed that it is a better way of life for them as I'd much rather see them rolling around in the mud enjoying themselves than being locked up in a shed, unable to roam freely.

I was eight years old when we began pig farming and I have been working with them ever since, much to my friends' amusement at school!

In 2008 we decided to establish our own brand and sell direct to you, the customer. Our meat is a premium, free range product and by buying from us, you know you're getting quality every time.

Enjoy!

Just what the customer wants

Our research shows that people buying pork look for it to be:

  • Locally Produced
  • High Welfare
  • Good Value

They like to know where it has come from, that the animals have been cared for during their life and not transported half way across the country to be slaughtered. Consumers understand that high welfare has cost implications, but they still expect good value. By ensuring consistently high quality and low overhead costs we believe that we can offer a product that tastes great every time at a price that also offers fantastic value for money. Anna's happy trotters ticks all the boxes!
